Meet Our Littles:
Colby, Age 10, Bellows Falls
Meet Colby! Colby is full of smiles and abundant energy. When asked what makes him different from other kids, Colby replies, “I don’t play video games.” Colby is 10 years old and lives in Brattleboro with his mom and baby sister. Some of the things that Colby enjoys are playing outdoors, building forts, playing sports (especially football), practicing Tae Kwan Do, making smores and canoeing. Colby’s mom hopes that if Colby has a Big Brother he will gain more self-confidence and have someone he can open up to. She also hopes that friendship will allow Colby the opportunity to be exposed to new activities. He is particularly interested in learning more about hunting and fishing. Summer is the perfect time to share these outdoor activities with Colby and introduce him to some of your own hobbies.
Robert, Age 11, West River Valley
Meet Robert! Robert is an intelligent, enthusiastic 11-year-old boy living in the West River Valley who is waiting for a Big Brother to spend some “guy time” with. He is an interesting kid because, along with liking NHL hockey, soccer and baseball, he also loves to play chess and learn about Greek and Roman mythology. He is passionate about staying active and trying new things. Both he and his mom feel that it would be great to do these things with a friend, a mentor.
Simon, Age 12, Brattleboro
Meet Simon! When asked if he could have any three wishes, Simon replies that he wishes he had (1) a house to live in, (2) a bigger family and (3) that he could “be a kid.” Simon is a 12-year-old and an only child. Recently, Simon’s mom has been struggling with housing issues, which has made it hard for Simon to just “be a kid.” Simon is interested in either meeting with a Big Brother during his lunch/recess period at school through our School-Based program or out in the community in our Community-Based program. Some of the things that Simon enjoys doing are playing board games, watching movies, playing outside, sledding, swimming, biking and NASCAR. Spending one hour a week “being a kid” with Simon may just be what he and you need.

My name is Sam. I am in fourth grade. I love basketball. I don’t want to work in a cubicle when I grow up.
